Intro

Google Ad Manager (formerly DoubleClick for Publishers) offers publishers a complete ad revenue engine, helping publishers streamline operations and capture the most value for every impression. To learn more about the API, visit their page (https://developers.google.com/ad-manager/api). You connect to your Google Ad Manager account in the Data Center. This topic discusses the fields and menus that are specific to the Google Ad Manager Connector user interface. General information for adding DataSets, setting update schedules, and editing DataSet information is discussed in Adding a DataSet Using a Connector.

Prerequisites

To connect to your Google Ad Manager account and create a DataSet, you must have a Google account with a username and password.

Connecting to Your Google Ad Manager Account

This section enumerates the options in the Credentials and Details panes in the Google Ad Manager Connector page. The components of the other panes in this page, Scheduling and Name & Describe Your DataSet, are universal across most Connector types and are discussed in greater length in Adding a DataSet Using a Connector.

Credentials Pane

The Domo Google Ad Manager Connector uses OAuth to connect, so there is no need to enter credentials within Domo. Click Connect (or select Add Account if you have existing Google Ad Manager accounts in Domo) to open the Google OAuth screen where you can enter your Google credentials. Once you have entered valid Google credentials, you can use the same account any time you go to create a new Google DataSet. You can manage Connector accounts in the Accounts tab in the Data Center. For more information about this tab, see Manage Connector/Adapter Accounts.
Note: If you are already logged into Google when you connect in Domo, you are authenticated automatically when you click Add account. If you want to connect to an account that is different from the one you are logged into, you must first log out of Google.

Details Pane

This pane contains a primary Reports menu, along with various other menus which may or may not appear depending on the report type you select.

FAQs

When calling the API to retrieve all the saved queries, if any of them have start dates older than 3 years then the call will fail. If you receive an error saying “ReportError.START_DATE_MORE_THAN_THREE_YEARS_AGO” while using the Saved Query report, then delete the saved queries from your Google Ad Manager account that have the start date older than 3 years.Which endpoint(s) does each report call in this connector?

You need a Google account with username and password.
The login process uses the OAuth process, so your credentials are never seen or stored by Domo. This keeps your login secure. You can revoke Domo’s access to your account at any time.
Yes
As often as needed.
No
Some Google Ad Manager reports are not compatible through the API. The most common reason is that it uses dynamic date ranges. You can configure the report to use static dates and then configure the connector to use dynamic dates. See Google Ad Manager Reporting Basics for more information.

Other Panes

For information about the remaining sections of the Connector interface, including how to configure scheduling, retry, and update options, see Adding a DataSet Using a Connector.
